Abigail Torres

March 6, 1961 — December 30, 2023

Abigail Torres, 62, of Manhattan, KS passed away December 30, 2023. Abigail, who was also known as "Vicky," was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico on March 6, 1961, the daughter of Hilda, Esther Perez, and Alberto Torres; Abigail grew up in Puerto Rico, she moved to Miami, Florida in 1979 and lived there most of her life. Abigail was a dedicated homemaker, she also worked as a Teacher's Assistant, a Foster Parent as well as a Puerto Rican food vendor. She loved fishing and camping. She was outgoing and social, which made it very easy for her to make friends.


In April 2012, Abigail moved to Manhattan, KS, where she continued to serve her community by helping everyone that she crossed paths with, in every way possible. She found pleasure and fulfillment in cooking and taking care of others.

She loved her grandchildren, and spoke often about how proud she was of each and every one of her children. Abigail was full of life, she loved celebrating and hosting during the holidays. Overall, she lived a very fun and exciting life. She would always make the best of bad situations however she could.


Abigail is survived by her sister, Millie Torres of Florida, her brother , Ezequiel Torres of Georgia, her son, William Morales of South Carolina, son Jose Morales of Florida, daughter Yackelyn Torres of KS, son Juan Torres of Florida, and son Carlos Santiago-Torres of Alaska; as well as 11 grandchildren.


A Visitation Service will be held on January 8, 2024, from 2:00pm-6:00pm. The Visitation Service will take place at Parkview Funeral Home and Cremation. Friends and members of the community who knew Abigail Torres are invited to attend.
