Adelheide 'Heide' Ramona Cramer, 81, of Manhattan, died Tuesday, March 26th, while in the company of family members, at Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community. She was a Secretary for the Menninger Foundation in Topeka, a Mercy Regional Health Center Volunteer for many years, and a homemaker. Adelheide 'Heide' Ramona Cramer was born in Wichita, on January 25, 1932, the daughter of the late Ernest and Anna Frieda (Rau) Steinle. Heide graduated from Burlingame High School in 1950, attended Emporia State Teachers' College in the Secretarial College in 1952, was married to Max Eugene Cramer and came to Manhattan in 1952 from Burlingame, Kansas. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, was active in the church pantry and Sunday School. She was also a former member of the Manhattan Country Club, American Legion Auxiliary, and Elks Auxiliary. Mrs. Cramer is survived by two daughters, Karin Levy and husband David, of Lincoln, MA; Connie Thornton and husband Chip Wheelen, of Topeka, KS; a brother, Buddy Steinle and wife Janet of Osage City; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Max. A memorial service will be held at at Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home & Cremation, Manhattan, KS, at 1:00pm on Saturday, April 6th. Inurnment will be at 4:00pm in the Burlingame Cemetery in Burlingame, KS. The family request donations to the Home Care & Hospice House, 3801 Vanesta Dr., Manhattan, KS 66503.
