“For this God is our God forever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end”. Psalm48:14 Barbara Jean Green (BJ) was born March 19, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois to Mary and Joseph Withrow. She went home to be with our Lord on March 21, 2021. BJ was a saved Christian and a member of the Pilgrim Baptist Church in Manhattan, KS. She was a Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was a dancer, fashion runway model, jewelry maker, educator, and doctoral student at age 83 until she became ill. BJ was two chapters from finishing her dissertation and she will forever be called Dr. BJ Green by her family. BJ loved her family and worked hard to make them strong and able to overcome many obstacles. She is survived by Michael and Pamela, her children. Grandchildren, Celeste, Antoine, and Lena Monet. Great Grandchildren Chamya, Mariah, and Cameran. She also left behind her Daughter-in-law who she loved dearly and her children Jenita, Jeniece, and Kenneth. There are many others she loved with all her heart and of course, it would be too many to name but they all know, if you have spent any time with Granny, Ms. Green, Barbara Jean, Dr. BJ she loved you as her own. To my beautiful Mother, there are no words to take away the pain of losing you. You lived a wonderful and glamorous life, you traveled the world and overcame many obstacles. You are now my beautiful butterfly, my angel in the sky, so soar like an eagle, and know you will always be loved and in our hearts forever. So long, see you later but never good-bye. We love you! Due to her wishes, there will be no services for Barbara Green but please leave a memory that you may have experienced knowing her.
