Dennis Scott Quaintance

January 14, 1967 — February 4, 2019

Scott Quaintance peacefully left this world on February 4th 2019 after a brave battle with Pallido Pont Nigral Degeneration. Scott was born on January 14, 1967 in Gardner KS to Harold and Dora Dean Quaintance. Scott enjoyed his life, he did not hesitate to take a chance, make new friends or try something different. After college he and partner Richard Garcia started a real estate business in Manhattan. Traveling was one of Scott’s favorite things to do. His travels have taken him through Europe, the Middle East, Japan, Belize, Turkey and more. He enjoyed France so much that he lived there for a short while. Another area of interest would take him to Jordan multiple times for archaeological fieldwork with The American Center of Oriental Research (ACOR) and Tafila- Busayra Archaeological Survey, West- Central Jordan. His contribution to the major field projects led to co-authorship on publications, “The Shammakh to Ayl Archaeological Survey, Southern Jordan (2010-2012)” and “The Ayl to Ras an-Naqab Archaeological Survey, Southern Jordan (2005-2007).” Scott was well known for his sense of humor and willingness to go to great detail to pull a good prank. He was happy and present whether he was at home making another batch of wine or across the globe seeking a new adventure. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Scott is survived by Richard Garcia of the home and sister Anna Quaintance, Rhode Island. Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Dora Dean and Brother, Lee. Per Scott’s wishes there will not be a formal funeral service. Cremation has taken place and the scattering of ashes will be at a later date. Memorial Donations in Scott’s name may be made to: Mayo Clinic Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center Attn: Pallido Pont Nigral Degeneration Research 4111 W. Frontage Rd., Hwy 52 NW 2-700 Rochester, MN. 55901
