Dorothy Marie Horsch, 84, of Manhattan, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Via Christi Health Center-Manhattan. Dorothy was born in Manhattan on July 14, 1932, the daughter of James Phillip and Mabel Frances (Leger) Callahan. She attended Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from Msgr. Luckey High School. She graduated from Marymount College in Salina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and worked as a Medical Technician at St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita. Dorothy married Marcellus Luke Horsch on February 21, 1955. They had five children: two daughters, Mary (Dan) Tritsch, of Topeka; Julie Sterling, of Frisco, TX; three sons, Mike (Jan) Horsch, of Lewisville, TX; Tim (Nancy) Horsch, of Waukee, IA; and Dan (Carol) Horsch, of Overland Park, as well as 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Mark, who died in 1987. In 1992 she married Glenn Morgan who died in 1993. Dorothy was a long-time member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan. She was active in the RCIA program, the Seven Dolors Budget Shop, the Food Pantry, Welcome Wagon Club, Manhattan Arts Council, Flint Hills Bread Basket and the Riley County Senior Center. She was also proceeded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law: Robert (Jean) Callahan; Dick Callahan; Bernard (Karen) Callahan; and one sister, Frances (Neil) Erdwien. Friends may pay their respects on Friday, November 18 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family present for a Rosary service at 6:30 p.m., all at the Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home & Cremation 1317 West Poyntz Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 19 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan, with Fr. Kerry Ninemeier officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sunrise Cemetery, Manhattan. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Seven Dolors Budget Shop, 730 Colorado Street, Manhattan, KS 66502 or the Parkinson's Program at Meadowlark Hills
