Edith Emily Gralow (Vitacco), affectionately known as Edie, passed away peacefully on August 27th 2024, in Manhattan, KS at the age of 76. Born on January 8, 1948, in Chicago, IL, she was a cherished individual known for her kindness, warmth, and exceptional artistic talent.
Edith dedicated many years to nurturing children as a playground supervisor for USD 383 while simultaneously embracing the role of a full-time mom, a title she held with pride and joy. Her gentle nature and beautiful smile made her a beloved figure not only among her family but also within the community she served.
A gifted artist, Edith had a remarkable eye for color and expressed her love for the world through her paintings. Her artwork brought joy and beauty to all who had the privilege to view it. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, where she shared her faith and kindness with her church family.
Edith leaves behind a loving family: her husband, John Gralow; daughters, Michelle Gralow and Carolyn Dennemont, her two grandchildren Annie and Pearl Dennemont, son in law Chris Dennemont, as well as her two loving brothers, Timmy and Tommy Vitacco and their families whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joan Witcomb and Alfred Vitacco.
Her life will be celebrated at Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home & Cremation, located at 1317 Poyntz, Manhattan, KS 66502, on Sunday, September 1st at 2 PM. The family invites all who knew Edie to join in commemorating her wonderful life and the light she brought into this world.
