Felix Alfonzo Vinson Sr. 49 was born June 6,1971 in Junction City, Kansas to, George and Linda Vinson. After struggling with congestive heart failure complications for four years Felix transitioned on November 22,2020. He was preceded in death by his father George Earl Vinson Sr. brother George Earl Vinson Jr. and sister Ethel Mae Vinson. Felix is survived by his mother Linda B. Ryan Vinson of the home; his sons: Micah Williams of Kansas City, Missouri; Felix Vinson Jr. of Junction City; Derrick Haase of Junction City; Tristian Regan of Lincolnton, North Carolina; Elijah Smith of Lincolnton, North Carolina; brothers Richard Wayne Vinson of Wichita; Maurice Vinson of Seattle; 7 sisters: Linda Gibson of Dayton, Ohio, Dewonna Goodridge of Junction City; Natasha Chisholm of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Vera Coachman of Ogden, KS, Velma Robinson- Davis (Dwight) of Junction City, Beverly Molina of Lawton, Oklahoma and Wilma Jean Robinson of Valdosta, Georgia; aunts Brenda Chisholm (Bishop William Chisholm) of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Shirreen Young of Junction City. Also surviving are eight grandkids, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. A longtime special friend Kimberly Knight Lacey and other close friends who loved and adored him. Felix received his education from Geary County Public schools in Junction City, an Associates of Science Degree from the Charlotte, North Carolina Technology and Trade school of Carpentry. Felix was attending the University of Phoenix majoring in Information Technology when his health started taking a turn for the worst. As little a boy Felix attended his family church, The Church of God in Christ in Manhattan. At the age of 17 Felix worked as a Private Contractor for various moving companies throughout the Junction City and Manhattan area; until his health would not allow him to work anymore. Felix also worked for the Howard Johnson hotel in Junction City as a maintenance man and ground keeper. Felix moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where he worked as a mail carrier and a cashier for the racetrack gas station. Felix loved old school R&B music, he loved to dance, go fishing, ride his bike all over Junction City. Most importantly he enjoyed sitting under the tree listening to music with his friends, Jerome Smith, Russell Carter, Dwight Davis also known as the Panther Crew or going to his friend Kerry Patton’s house in Topeka which is known as the KC Chief crew. Felix enjoyed driving his mother from state to state to VFW and Military Order of the Cootie conventions and inspections. Felix had a favorite saying,” The party don’t start until I get there, because I’m the life of the party; and everything will be all right.” Felix will be greatly missed by everyone who had an opportunity to meet him. Visitation will be held Thursday, December, 3rd, at Carlson's Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home & Cremation between the hours of 6-8 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Friday at The New Church of the Living God in Junction City at 2 PM. Memorials in Remembrance of Mr. Vinson can be sent to the Military Order of the Cootie and addressed to Mary Reed, 1223 Westwood BLVD, Junction City, KS. 66441.
