George Henry DeWyke, Jr., 98, of Wamego, KS, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019. George was born on the family farm in Clay County, Kansas on July 16, 1920, son of Charlotte Alice (Hinsen) and George Henry DeWyke. He graduated from Garrison High School in 1938. On September 23, 1956 he married Lucille Bunkow. He was a Farmer in Stockdale and Garrison, KS, he also worked in the Athletic Department and the Grounds Department at Kansas State University for 26 years. George was apart of several organizations like, The Odd Fellows 17 Manhattan, Odd Fellows 36 Louisvillle, The Wamego Historical Society and the Wabaunsee County Historical Society. He is survived by his wife Lucille DeWyke, his step son, Jimmy(Virginia) Aubert, of LaHarpe, KS; Grand daughter Julie Aubert, Grandsons, Alan Aubert, and Jared Aubert. George is preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Carlson's Irvin-Parkview. Burial to follow at Wamego City Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Carlson's Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home and Cremation.
