Georgia I Roberts

Georgia I. Roberts (89), passed away on July 5, 2015 at her residence, Homestead Assisted Living, Manhattan, Kansas, surrounded by family and friends. She was married to Leland F. Howerton and later divorced. In 1956, she married Albert R. Roberts, and in 2007, he preceded her in death. Georgia was born July 3, 1926 in Baxter County, Arkansas to Homer J. and Maud (Wilson) Adkins. During World War II, she resided in Wichita, KS and worked in an aircraft factory. Later, she devoted herself to family and home as she settled in Las Vegas, Nevada. After the death of her husband Albert “Rocky,” she moved to Kansas to be closer to family. Georgia was an avid reader and was a childcare provider. She is survived by her brother, Wallace Eugene (Catherine) Adkins, her son, Leland F. (Jill) Howerton Jr., her daughter Tamara Roberts Moss, and grandchildren Erin, Dallas, and Nicholas. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Thomas Franklin, Jack W., Bobby Ray, Charles D., James R., Sybil, Mary, Coralie, Nadine, and her son Michael George Howerton. A private service has been planned.
