Helen Marie Tittel, 95, of Manhattan, passed away Tuesday, December 18th, at Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community. Helen was born in Great Bend, Kansas on November 9, 1917, daughter of the late Harriet Ellen (Todd) and James C. Brown. She grew up in Great Bend, attended the local schools and graduated from beauty school in Wichita. On April 9, 1939 in Clay Center, Kansas, Helen married William Frederick Tittel. He preceded her in death on June 12, 2002. William and Helen lived many places together and moved to Manhattan in 1982. She was a member of Sedalia Community Church. Survivors include daughter, Judy Woodworth and husband Herb, of Manhattan, Kansas; son, Gary Tittel and wife Connie, of Wakefield, Kansas; brother, Leon Brown of Shawnee Mission, Kansas; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William F. Tittel; brother, Chester F. Brown; sisters, Sylvia McMahan, Patricia Barlow, Tressa McDonald; and great granddaughter, Ashleigh L. Ruthstrom. The funeral service will be held at Sedalia Coummunity Church, Manhattan, Kansas, at 10:30 am on Friday, December 21st, with Kevin Larson officiating. Friends are invited to call Thursday from 9 am to 8 pm with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 pm at Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home & Cremation. Burial will follow at Sedalia Church Cemetery, Manhattan, Kansas Memorial contributions may be made to Sedalia Community Church 6040 N 52nd St, Manhattan, Kansas 66503, or left in the care of Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home & Cremation.
