Irene B. Carmody, 84, of Manhattan, passed away on Wednesday, February 24th, at Via Christi Health Center- Manhattan. Irene Barbara Limbacher was born in Mehlingen, Germany on October 2, 1931, the daughter of the late Friedrich and Magdalena (Gehrsitz) Limbacher. She was a group manager for ALCO Department store in Manhattan and a member of St. Isidore Catholic Student Center also in Manhattan. She was united in marriage to Larry Carmody in Denver on Dec, 22, 1983. Irene is survived by her husband, Larry of the home; two daughters, Barbara Bellio, (Donald) , of Evergreen, CO; Angela Adams (Bill) of Syracuse, NY; three sons, Carl Carmody, of Aurora, CO; Mike Carmody, of Cedar City, UT; Anthony Carmody, of Franklin, TN; two granddaughters, Erin Carmody, Gina Gerahty; two grandsons, Nathan Carmody & Joshua Adams; a sister, Brunhilda Mueller (Paul) of Worms, Germany. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, April 26 at St. Isidore’s Catholic Student Center, 711 Denison Avenue, in Manhattan, Kansas. Rosary/Eulogy will be at 3:15-4:15 p.m. followed by a funeral mass at 4:30 p.m. Interment will be on Friday, April 29 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO.
