Jerry Don Berry, 75, of St. George, KS, passed away Wednesday, July 16th, at his residence. He was the owner/operator of Central Mechanical Services, Manhattan KS for 40 years. Jerry was born in Fostoria, KS on January 8, 1939, a son of the late Jerry J. and Sarah Opal (Tilton) Berry. He attended and graduated from the Randolph KS school system,. He joined the US Navy in 1958 and served 4yrs. Jerry was married to Donna Burkland in 1963. They had two children ,Trever and Bobbi Jo. Jerry and Donna divorced in 1986. On May 25, 1990 he was united in marriage to Leona 'Lea' Roberts in Westmoreland KS. Jerry was a member of the Pearce-Keller American Legion Post No. 17, VFW Post 1786, Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #2468 all of Manhattan. Survivors include his wife Lea of the home; son, Trever Berry, of Manhattan; daughter, Bobbi Jo Berry, of Lenexa KS; two step daughters, Kelly Roberts, of Wamego KS, Natalie Roberts, of Belvue, KS; a sister, Aldine Schwerdt, of Manhattan; a brother, Jerome Berry, and wife Sonja, of Manhattan and three grandchildren Travis Berry, of Denver, CO; Christopher Zoeller and his companion Beth Santo, of Wamego; Chelsea McDonald, of Wamego and two great grandchildren Jake McDonald and Kailey Zoeller, in addition to many cousins, nieces and nephews . Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Nadine Peterson and brother Bill Berry. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Tuesday, July 22 from 1:00 until 4:00 at Ramblers Steakhouse, Manhattan. A private service will be held at the Carnahan Creek Cemetery, Olsburg, KS.
