****************** John D. Ayer, 55, of Manhattan, KS passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2019. John was born in Middleton, Ohio on August 30, 1963, to Marcella (Woods) and Robert Ayer. He graduated from Memorial Hall High school, in Houston, TX. John Served in the U.S. Army. While serving John received several commendations. After getting out of the Military, he was in the reserves until he became disabled. John also worked as a locksmith until he retired. He loved riding his motorcycle. He is survived by his two daughters, Currin Ayer of Topeka, KS, and Lac'e (Chris) Zavadil of Elkins, AK, his sister Kathy Weingeist of Waco, TX brother in law Phil Weingeist of Waco, TX, his brother Daniel Ayer of Concord, NH, his grandson Corleone Ayer; his Niece Christina Knox of Temple, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Military Veterans Motorcycle Club, 1933 Hayes Dr. Manhattan, KS 66502. Graveside service will be held on July 12, 2019, at 10:00 AM at the Kansas Veteran's Cemetery. A gathering of friends and family will be following at Carlson's Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home and Cremation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Carlson's Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home and Cremation.
