Joseph J. (Joe) Sotkovski Joseph John Sotkovski Jr, 78, of Manhattan, passed away Friday, April 14th, at the Via Christi Village in Manhattan. Joe was born in Teanesta, PA on December 27, 1938, the son of Joseph John, Sr and Kathryn Lozier Sotkovski. On July 17, 1973 in Nuevo Leon, Mexico he was united in marriage to Sharon Blake, who preceded him in death on Oct. 19, 2013. He was retired as a truck driver for Shilling Construction of Manhattan after 30 years, and was retired from the U.S. Army as a Sgt. 1st Class after serving for 23 years. He received a Bronze Star, One Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Joe is survived by his 8 children, Dale Twiford, Brenda Rollins, Bobby Sotkovski, Denise Lundin, Mary Trant, Marlo Horn, Robert Sotkovski, Alison Sotkovski, 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. As per Joe's wish, cremation was selected and a graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Manhattan. Military Honors will be conducted by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard. The family wishes for donations to the Parkinson Disease organization, www.parkinson.org.
