Jutta S. Carvin
May 24, 1951 – February 25, 2025
Jutta S. Carvin, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on February 25, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 24, 1951, in Marburg, Germany, and lived a life full of strength, love, and dedication to those she cherished.
Jutta came to the United States with minimal English, but through determination and perseverance, she taught herself the language, learned to read fluently, and put herself through a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program. She dedicated her career to caring for others until she was forced into retirement in 2009 due to breast cancer.
In 2024, Jutta was diagnosed with lung and liver cancer, which later spread to her pancreas. Despite the challenges, she faced this final journey with courage and grace, surrounded by the love of her family.
She is survived by her devoted husband, David A. Carvin, with whom she shared an extraordinary love story. Their first meeting in Germany was like a scene from a Hallmark movie—an instant connection that grew into a deep and unbreakable bond. David stood by her side through every hardship, ensuring that she never felt the weight of financial struggles or difficulties. He never complained and always allowed Jutta to lead, making their love truly stand the test of time.
Jutta leaves behind her children:
Nicole Nickel (Robert Nickel) and their children: René Nickel (with his girlfriend Jessica) and their children Romina, Milan, and Emilio, as well as Nico Nickel, Denise Carvin (Quentin Gamble) and their children: Faatimah, Safiyyah, Aishah, and Haleemah Gamble, Julia Carvin (Allen Ayella) and their children: Zak, John-Patrick, and Jazmen Ayella.
Her greatest joy in life was being "Oma" to her grandchildren. She created unforgettable memories, especially through her cherished "Oma Time," where she would invite her grandchildren over and treat them like princesses for the day, making each of them feel special and adored.
Jutta loved passing down German traditions, and one of the most special customs she upheld was the Schultüte—a school cone filled with goodies that children in Germany receive on their first day of school. She made sure all her grandchildren had this experience, filling their cones with school supplies and delicious treats. Watching their excitement as they opened their Schultüte brought her immense joy and was a beautiful connection to her German heritage.
She will also be remembered for her competitive spirit during family game nights. Whether it was a game similar to SORRY! or Mensch ärgere dich nicht, she somehow always won—leading to playful suspicions and lots of laughter.
Jutta’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and strength. She deeply believed in the power of forgiveness and the value of family. While life may sometimes create distance, she always held onto the hope of understanding and reconciliation.
