Karl Ellis Sensley, 53, of Manhattan, formerly of Elkhart, KS, passed away Friday, December 9th, at Good Shepherd Hospice House. Karl was born in Oakland, CA on December 9, 1963. He was the husband of Jennifer Dawn (Martin) Sensley, they were married on Feb. 17, 1996 in Liberal. Karl attended and graduated from high school in Lewisville, Ark and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Business from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Ark. He served in the U.S. Army as a Ranger and was honorably discharged. While in Elkhart, he and his family were members of the Hillcrest Southern Baptist Church in Elkhart, where he had been a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Karl was a retired crop loss adjuster for RCIS (Rural Community Insurance Service) in Elkhart, also worked for Seaboard Foods, hog production in Elkhart for 16 yrs and the Elkhart Lumber Co. Karl and his family moved here 2 years ago and are members of the College Heights Baptist Church in Manhattan Karl is survived by his wife, Jennifer, daughter Gracie, and son, Justice all of Manhattan; mother Thelma Wise of Merrillville, AR; mother-in-law, Linda Martin of Elkhart; three sisters, Mary Wilcox, of Little Rock, AR; Kathleen Yon, of Merrillville, IN; Dorothy Henderson, of Lewisville, AR; 11 nieces and nephews; 2 great nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his father George and father-in-law, Kyle Martin. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 13th at the College Heights Baptist Church, 2320 Anderson Ave in Manhattan, with Pastor Lentz Upshaw officiating. The family requests donations to University of Texas, Southwestern; Heart/Lung Research in Dallas, TX, and may be sent to the funeral home.
