Lee Ella Jones-Conner, 87, of Manhattan, KS, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019. Lee Ella was born in Queen City, TX on March 23, 1932, along with her twin brother the late Leo Richardson, to Ethel Mae (Webster) and Mose Richardson. She was married to the late Benjamin Jones Sr. and together they had five children. She then became married to Douglas Conner on November 29, 1974, in Manhattan, KS. She was a cook for the Sororities and Fraternities at KSU for over 25 years, she also worked in the Quartermaster Laundry at Fort Riley for 3 years. She attended the Mount Zion Church of God in Christ until she was unable to go due to her health. Lee is survived by her Husband Douglas Conner, her children; Robert Jones, Shirley (Jerry) Hudley, Benjamin Jones Jr., and Bruce Jones, Ethel (Ronald) Trotter. Her sisters, Oddie Page of Domino, TX, Mary Malone of Manhattan, KS, Della (Ron) Geary of El Paso, TX, Rose Boone of Domino, TX; 17 Grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren, and 9 Great Great Grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and nine of her siblings. Memorials in her name can be made to the Terry C. Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research at KSU. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 29, 2019 from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Carlson's Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home and Cremation. Funeral Service will be on Wednesday October 30, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Carlson's Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home and Cremation, burial to follow at Kansas Veteran's Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Carlson's Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home and Cremation.
