Linda Lou DeWees, 76, of Manhattan, KS passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023. Linda was born in Wichita, Kansas on March 2, 1947, the daughter of the late Levi R. and Theresa Ann (Belick) DeWees.
Linda was an educator in numerous schools and was a teacher at the time of her retirement from Topeka West High School. She graduated from Norton High School in Norton, Kansas and from Ft. Hays State University in Hays, Kansas where she received two master degrees in Home Economics and Education Administration. She Was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Manhattan where she was active in the Sanctuary Choir.
Linda is survived by a daughter, Diana Lynn Melody, of Wilmington, Delaware; and a son, Derek, and his wife Denise, Lawson, of Wichita. Linda is also survived by her grandson, Sean Melody, also of Wilmington, Delaware; and her sister, Susan Welsh, of Lincoln Nebraska.
