Lois Jean (Brown) Borders was born in Sinton, TX on January 2, 1953, to Lewis E. Brown Sr. and Mary Louise (Lewis) Brown.
Affectionately known as Lois Jean and Big Lois by family, Lois loved and enjoyed dancing, cooking, watching movies and her daily soap operas as well as being a collector of beautiful dolls.
At an early age, Lois accepted Christ, as her Lord and Savior while growing up in her home church, Zion Baptist Church. Lois received her early years of education in Sinton, TX and graduated from Sinton High School. After high school, Lois met and married Daniel Borders and moved to Boston, Massachusetts in 1971 and to this union, a handsome baby boy which they named Danny was born. While living in Boston, Lois gained employment at Boston City Hospital. Lois and her family then moved to Greenwood, FL in 1983 where she then retired from the State of Florida in the food service industry in 2007.
After retirement, Lois decided to move to Junction City, KS. While living in KS, to remain busy, Lois decided to return to the food service industry to work part-time, where she worked an additional 10 years between the Fort Riley Dining Facilities, Fort Riley Irwin Hospital and K-State Food Service Department. Throughout her life, Lois spent over 40 years working in the food service industry.
On December 19, 2024, Thursday at 1:00pm, the Lord decided that he was ready for his daughter to come home.
Left to cherish her loving memories are Daniel Borders, son: Danny Borders (LaTaisha) of Ogden, KS. Granddaughters: Keiana, Jaisha, Jazmine, and Destiny. Brothers: Lewis Brown Jr. of Houston, TX, Dennis Brown of Sinton, TX, and Jeffery Pleasant of Corpus, TX. Sisters: Nancy Brown of Ogden, KS, and Constance Brown of Sneads, FL. Brother- in-laws: Moses Borders (Brenda K), James Borders, all of Boston, MA, Joseph Borders of Marianna, FL. Sister-in-laws: Mildred Borders of Tallahassee, FL, Alice Bendele (Ako) of Sneads, FL, Deloris Borders of Boston, MA, Brenda L. Borders of Glenburnie, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents Lewis E. Brown Sr. and Mary Louise (Lewis) Brown and her brother, Marvin Pleasant.
