M. Luann Cramer

April 27, 1931 — July 20, 2019

Mildred Luann Cramer was born on April 27th, 1931 to Rae and Mabel Culver of Kansas City, Kansas. Luann passed away peacefully on July 20th in Leawood, Kansas. She grew up in Kansas City Kansas and attended Wyandotte High School, where she was a member of the Owls. Next, it was on to Kansas State University as a Delta, Delta, Delta sorority member. After a few college years, she married Ted Maupin, who was a non-commissioned Air Force officer. That nomadic life suited her well because she always loved to travel as a child, which is not surprising because her father was a conductor with the Union Pacific railroad. Once the Air Force chapter ended there were two more stops; Scandia, Kansas and Beatrice, Nebraska. Finally, the family headed back to the beautiful Flint Hills of Manhattan, Kansas. Her life was full there where she not only managed the energetic lives of her four children but was active in local politics, the Manhattan Regional Airport, House Board of the Delta, Delta, Delta, sorority, and eventual emeritus Trustee of the Kansas State University Foundation Board of Trustees. She also traveled throughout Europe and the United States and loved to cook, garden, play golf and actively participate in any card game, especially bridge. Her fondest childhood summer memory was traveling by railroad to Belleville, Kansas to visit her “Grandma Mac”, receiving a silver dollar from her grandfather on the town square and being showered with love from her “Big” Uncle Dan. She has been loved and will be missed greatly. Luann is survived by her sister, Sandra Vader; two sons, Brad and Clay Maupin; two daughters, Kim Sweet and Sue Maupin; two stepdaughters, Gayle Heller, and Teresa Cramer; one stepson, Robert Cramer; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home, 1317 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas. Fond memories and condolences may be shared at the funeral home website, irvinparkview.com
