Marvin C. Kanode

Marvin C. Kanode, of Manhattan, passed away Wednesday, November 21st, at Mercy Regional Health Center. Marvin was born July 22, 1938, in Westmoreland, KS Following 60 years in the construction business in Manhattan, he retired to enjoy his favorite hobby of fishing as well as many other outdoor activities. He also enjoyed a great deal of traveling with family and friends. His greatest love and calling in life was spending time with and caring for his grandchildren. Marvin is survived by his wife of 52 years, Corrine of the home and their two daughters; Tina Hughes (Don) of Sabetha, KS and Lori Lynn VanMeter (John) of Adel, IA; two grandchildren, Samuel and Maggi Lynn Hughes; two brothers; Delno Kanode (Virginia) of LaHabra, CA, Verlon Kanode (Bonnie) of Wamego, KS; one sister, Lila Kaye Walker (Richard) of Ovid, MI as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00pm to 6:00pm at the Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home & Cremation. A visitation with the family present will be held Monday, Nov. 26 between 11:30am - 1:30pm also at the funeral home. A private graveside service will follow at the Sunrise Cemetery, in Manhattan.
