Mary Lou (Warren) Kenworthy, 89, passed away June 21, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas.
Mary Lou was born December 14, 1934, to Bryan and Murrel (Barnett) Warren in Marshall
County, Kansas; and was a graduate of Frankfort High School in 1952.
She was the wife of Ralph Kenworthy. They were united in marriage on November 24, 1955 at
the First Presbyterian Church in Frankfort, Kansas. They were married 63 years at the time of his passing in 2019.
Mary Lou graduated from Stormont Vail School of Nursing in 1955. She worked as a nurse at
hospitals in Manhattan, Hill City and Ransom, Kansas.
Mary Lou was a woman of great faith who loved the Lord with all her heart. She used her love of
the Lord to minister to others in her work as a nurse and as a volunteer in the communities in
which she lived. She was a former member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Manhattan,
Kansas. Her highest calling was as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was
known for her witty sayings and great cooking skills.
Mary Lou – aka Grandma K – is survived by five children : James (Linda) Kenworthy of
Manhattan, Kansas; Joyce (Michael) Eurit of Ainsworth, Nebraska; Jo (James) Hardy of
Wichita, Kansas; Jeffry Kenworthy of Wichita, Kansas; and Jean (Bart) Balthazor of Valley
Center, Kansas; 15 grandchildren – Alexander, Anne, Claire (Isaac), Colin (Lila), Cory, Ellen
(Jonathan), Elliott, Evan (Mara), Jennifer (Jason), Jessica, Joshua, Miles, Nathan, Sarah (Josiah),
Warren, and 3 great-grandchildren – Rinoa, Ruby, Samuel; and of course Copper (her favorite
dog).
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; both parents and one sister (June
Warren).
Visitation will be at First Presbyterian Church in Frankfort, Kansas at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June
29, 2024 with the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the funeral service at the
Frankfort Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Frankfort First Presbyterian Church,
