Maurice L. 'Mo' Jackson Mo Jackson, 52, of Manhattan, passed away Saturday, June 11th, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House. Maurice Lee Jackson affectionally know as 'Mo' was born in Manhattan, on July 13, 1963, the son of Judy Lee Jackson, of Manhattan, and the late James Dillard. He was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Manhattan, a graduate of Manhattan High School 1981, attended Kansas State University for 3 years, also attended a college in California for one year. Mo lived in Manhattan most of his life, except for 2 years in Wichita and one year in California. He worked at KSU in the food service, prior to his work at KSU, he had also manage a Denny's Restaurant in Wichita for over 2 years. Maurice is survived by a daughter, Porisha Jackson, of Long Beach,CA; a son,Darion Taylor, of Manhattan; two sisters, Robin, (Gary) Darby-Bey, of Aurora, CO; Bernadette Jackson, of Charlotte, N. C.; a half sister, LaDonna, (Johnny) Reed, of Georgia; two half brothers, Benita Dillard, of Manhattan; Darren,(Teresa) Dillard, of Altanta, GA; a step sister, Darlene J. Jones-Mathews, of Manhattan. He was preceded in death by his father, James Dillard in 2003. A Home Going Celebration will be held, Friday, June 17th at 2:00 p.m. at the Pilgrim Baptist Church, 831 Yuma St, with Rev. David Helms officiating. Inurnment will be at a later time at the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan. The family requests donations to Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 6520 North Andrews Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309-2130. Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home & Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
