Mckinley N. Blake

McKinley N. Blake, 99, of Manhattan, KS, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Via Christi Village. McKinley was born on September 18, 1918, in Tallulah, Louisiana to Charlie and Roxanna (Duncan) Blake. In 1940 he married Lucille William, together they had four children. He served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt, during WWII. He was a Construction Laborer at Jeffery Energy Center Hunter and Lundberg Lumber Company for 18 years and Jeffery Energy Center for 8 years. McKinley is survived by two daughters, Delois (Curtis) Puckett, of Coppers Cove, TX; Shirley Brown, of Phoenix City, AL; a son, McKinley Blake, Jr., of Seattle, WA; 26 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 15 Great-Great-Grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lucille, his 2 sisters and 5 brothers, his daughter Barbara Webb, and a grandchild. Visitation will be held at Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 5th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 6th at 11:00 at Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Kansas Veteran's Cemetery with military honors. Family request donations to American Foundation for the Blind, 2 Penn Plaza, Suite 110, New York, NY 10121. Arrangements have been entrusted to Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home and Cremation.
