Ruth L. Watts Ruth Lucille Watts, 98, of Manhattan, KS, passed away the evening of Wednesday, January 7th, at her daughters residence in Salina, KS. Ruth was born in Naples, OK on February 19, 1916, the daughter of the late Elmer Ellsworth and Marguerite G. (Evans) Kell. She was a graduate of Chickasha, OK High School and was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Chickasha. On Feb. 6,1935 in Chickasha, OK, Ruth Lucille Kell was united in marriage to Oscar R. Watts, Jr. and he preceded her in death Sept. of 1985. In 1949 Ruth and Oscar moved to Guymon, OK, where she worked at the Guymon Memorial Hospital as a laundry associate, she was a member of First United Methodist Church in Guymon where she was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the church. Ruth was a former Girl Scout Leader, loved going to casinos, an avid game player, former PTA president in Guymon and owned a candy store also in Guymon. In 1989 after Oscar's death, she moved to Everett, WA, and then in 1997 to Manhattan, KS, and then to Salina in February 2014. Ruth is survived by a daughter Frances R. O'Bannon, of Salina, KS., 1 sisters: Marylee Price of Las Vegas, NV; 8 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents: Elmer and Marguerite Kell; a brother: Charles Kell; a sister, Marie Lay; two daughters Patricia Ann Hunestead and Joyce Evon Miller; a granddaughter, Christina and a great grandson, Casey. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon till the service at 2:00pm on Tuesday, January 13th, with Pastor Steve Myers officiating at the Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home, Manhattan, KS, the burial will be held on Thursday, January 15th at 2:00pm in Guymon, OK at the Elmhurst Cemetery.
