Neva Gail Rice, 95, formerly of Manhattan, died September 26, 2013 in Roanoke, Virginia. Neva Gail DeWyke was born on April 1, 1918, in Stockdale Kansas, she was the daughter of George and Charlotte (Drew) DeWyke. Neva graduated from Garrison High School in 1936. She was a member of the Harmony Rebekah Lodge #689 for 53 years and was a past grand noble. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church. She worked mostly in food service. She married Victor Rice on May 12, 1939, in Abilene. He preceded her in death, as did an infant son, Gary Lee Rice. Survivors include her son, Douglas Rice and wife Janet of Vinton, Virginia; granddaughter Julia Jackson; three great-grandchildren, Alecia Chatterton, Logan Chatterton, and Sheldon Chatterton of Roanoke, Virginia; and three brothers, George DeWyke and wife Lucille, Ralph DeWyke and wife Carol, and Keith DeWyke.
