Patsy E. Tubach, 82, of Manhattan, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at Mercy Regional Health Center. She was born June 7, 1930 in Lawrence. Pat was the daughter of Albert and Laura Haltom. Graduating from Harper High School, she continued her education at Sterling College for one year and transferred to Kansas State where she was a member of the Clovia House. Pat met her husband James E. Tubach in college and they were married at the Danforth Chapel on January 23, 1954, the same day she graduated from Kansas State. Pat taught high school Home Economics and Biology in Oskaloosa, Kansas. Shortly after, Pat moved to Manhattan and was hired on at Riley County Extention Office with the Expanded Foods and Nutrition Program, teaching low income families how to stretch their food income. After receiving her Masters of Science in Adult Education she later worked as an Assistant Director of The Child Development Care Center at Ft Riley. She is survived by her husband Jim, brother Arden Haltom of Grandbury, Texas, daughter Wendy Michaels wife of Wayne Michaels of Manhattan, and 3 grandchildren Whitney, Wren Ellen, and Will. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert & Laura Holtom. Pat willed her body to the KU medical school hoping to advance studies in rhuemtoid arthritis. A celebration service of Pat's life will be held on February 8, 2013 at 10:30am at College Avenue United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials have been established for College Avenue United Methodist Church and Kansas Lions Sight Foundation or a Charity of your choice.
