Phyllis Boyle, 96, of Manhattan, passed away Tuesday, February 11th at her home. Phyllis was born on August 31, 1917 in Manhattan to the late Joseph G., Sr. and Rose J. (Cunningham) Boyle She was a graduate of the Sacred Heart Academy, Kansas State Agricultural College (KSU) and the University of Kansas Medical Center Medical Technology Program. Phyllis worked at the University of Kansas Medical Center in the Clinical Laboratories and the Medical Technology program. She was also a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. Phyllis is survived by her sister-in-law Dolores Boyle; a nephew Terry Boyle, nieces Maureen (Dan) Conaway and Jana Long both of Topeka; nephew Tom (Cheryle) Boyle of Canton, Georgia and a niece Mary (Al) Apitz of Bixby, Oklahoma, as well as several great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Joseph G. Boyle, Jr., William E. Boyle and a nephew Dennis Boyle. At the family's request there will be no visitation as cremation has been chosen. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15th, with Father Joe Popelka officiating. A rosary will preceded the service beginning at 11:30 am. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Seven Dolors Catholic Church, 731 Pierre St., Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
