Raymond Clarence 'Ray' Hall Raymond Clarence 'Ray' Hall, 95, Alta Vista, passed away Thursday, March 28th, at the Council Grove HealthCare Center, Council Grove, KS. Raymond was born in Great Falls, MT on January 23, 1918, son of the late Willard F. and Sylvia (Fries) Hall. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Iowa State in 1941, and received his Master's Degree from KSU in 1951. Ray was a Professor of Chemical Engineering at KSU (1951-1983), a rancher and farmer in the Alta Vista area, and a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Maple Hill. He also served his country in the US Army as a Capt. during WW II; as an Engineer Unit Commander and Platoon leader in the Pacific Theater, he helped design and develop protective armor for bull dozers. On Nov. 30, 1944 he was united in marriage to Mary Still at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ogden. He is survived by Mary; their four children: Raymond C. (Kathleen) Hall, Jr. of Lawrence; Sarah (Michael) Magnuson of Lawrence; Nancy (Michael) Caughron of Kansas City, MO; Mary (Kirk) Waymire of Alta Vista; 21 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Kemper of Los Angeles, CA; and sisters-in-law Phyllis Hall of Great Falls, MT and Gloria Hall of Palmyra, Neb. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Hilan, Edwin and Warren Hall; grandson Kirk Waymire, Jr., and great-grandson Samuel Abraham. The Parish Vigil/Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, with the family receiving friends at 6:00pm at Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home & Cremation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Ogden at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 1st, with Father Joe Popelka officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Ogden, KS. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church 303 16th St. Ogden, KS 66517.
