Dennis Ray Stauffer, 79, of Wamego, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, August 28th, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan. Dennis was born in Westmoreland, Kansas on June 21st, 1942, and a son of the late Lois Beryl (Hough) and George Edward Stauffer.  In 1960 he graduated from Westmoreland High School. He was united in marriage to Betty Lou Holder on October 6, 1962, at the St. Bernards Catholic Church in Wamego, they have been married for nearly 59 years. On his 62nd birthday, in 2004, Dennis retired after working for 40 years as an agricultural mechanic at both Meinhardt Equipment and Kan-Equip in Wamego. While in-between working and home life, he was a member of the Topeka Touring Society, which he and Betty enjoyed touring on his motorcycle to 49 states and Mexico. Dennis is survived by his wife Betty Lou Stauffer of Wamego, and son, David Wayne Stauffer and wife Cathy, of The Villages, Florida, also surviving is his brother, Donald Jay Stauffer of Mentor, Ohio.  He is preceded in death by his parents George Edward and Lois Beryl Stauffer. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. The family requests any donations be directed to the Dennis Stauffer Memorial Scholarship for AG Mechanic Schooling.
