A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert C (Bob) Heptig, 76, will be at 12:00 PM Saturday, February 22, 2014 at St Joseph Catholic Church, Flush, KS with Father Mike Peterson officiating. Burial will take place at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Flush, Kansas. Bob died while surrounded by his loving family on Thursday February 13, 2014 in a Lawton, OK hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00pm - 7:00pm on Friday, February 21 at the funeral home chapel with a rosary to begin at 7:00pm. Bob was born in Flush, KS on July 4, 1937, to Anthony Peter and Alvira Noll-Heptig. He moved to Colorado in 1958 where he married his former wife Dorothy Epperson of Pueblo West, CO. In 1983, Bob moved to Lawton, Ok and married MJ Brown on November 29, 1986. Bob and MJ were active members of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Pueblo Colorado Ham Club for over 50 years and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1287, 4th degree Blessed Sacrament assembly 850, Lawton, OK. He dedicated 37 years to Monroe Systems for Business before he retired in 1999. Bob had a special gift for fixing anything. He used his talent to help all of his children and grandchildren, his wife, the Knights of Columbus, Holy Family Catholic Church, Pueblo Ham Club, many friends, and many stranded motorists over the years. Bob thoroughly loved his cabin in the Colorado Mountains and especially enjoyed sharing it with his family and friends. Survivors include his aunt Anna M. Noll of Manhattan, KS, sisters Aleta Morris of Lebanon, MO, and Audrey Rupert of Shawnee, KS. Children include Sid Heptig and his wife Sue, Beulah, CO; Lorrie Lahlou and her husband Khalil, Denver, CO; Tony Heptig, Pueblo West, CO; Susan Schlecht and her husband William, Cache, OK; Marilyn Heptig, Pueblo West, CO; step children Janet Crossan-Lugo and her husband Lonnie, Mary Lynn Feeback, Jennifer Nobis and her husband Daryl all of Cache, OK; Kathy Kendall and her husband Robert, Lawton, OK; John Trueblood, Lawton, OK; Chris Trueblood, Oklahoma City, OK. Grandchildren Danny Simpson, Zak Nobis, Robert Schlecht, Katie Lahrian, Amanda Simpson, Josh Nobis, Brooke Cox, Mallisa Neighbors, Savannah Schlecht, Zachary Crossan, Kaitlyn Cox, Dustin Crossan, Jacob Schlecht, Justin Kendall, Krystal Schlecht, Robert Kendall, Samantha Feeback, Justin Heptig, Abigail Trueblood, Sydney Feeback, Shane Feeback, Nathen Trueblood, Makayla Trueblood , Michael Schlecht and two great grandchildren. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Antoinette Cassel, Rosemary Winter, Marilyn Young, Tony Heptig, his wife MJ and grandson Nathen Trueblood.
