Robin Elizabeth Rapp was born April 19, 1953, at the Norton County Hospital and made her home in Norcatur, KS with parents, Bob and Bonnie Rapp and brothers, Barney and Bill. Brother Ben was born five years later. Robin thought she was adopted in her early years because she was the only Rapp whose first name started with an “R” instead of a “B”. On July 13, 2019, Robin won her battle with cancer and is now in the arms of Jesus. She attended the Norcatur Public Schools until after her junior year when the school closed. She graduated from Norton Community High School in 1971. Robin took classes from Kansas State University and Colby Community College. Three children were born, Cher, Kyle, and Laci, to her first marriage. Robin worked as an Elementary Secretary and Lunch Room Accountant at the Logan Public Schools until moving to Manhattan to work at Manhattan Christian College in 1991. She married Eric Norris in 1992 and has worked in various positions with Gardner & White, the Kansas Pork Producers Council, Duke University, KS Department of Health and Environment, the KS District of the Wesleyan Church and most recently served as Vice-President of Operations for DPI Benefits. Robin’s spiritual life was always very important to her even from a very young age. She held memberships in St. Marks Lutheran Church in Norcatur, the Christian Church Logan, the Chapel Hill Wesleyan Church in Chapel Hill, NC, Heritage Park Wesleyan Church in Topeka, Real Life Church in Manhattan and currently at Westview Community Church here in Manhattan. She was a church pianist and accompanist for over 40 years while also serving in many other capacities of the church. Robin was an avid fan of KSU, Royals, and Chiefs. Sports were a priority on the TV. She would wear her headset around the house while cleaning to catch whatever sporting event was on the air. She deeply loved life, her God, her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. She is survived by her husband, Eric Norris of Manhattan. Her daughter, Cher Greving (Colby) of Prairie View, her son, Kyle Grunert (Heather) of Topeka, her daughter, Laci Vitanza (Stephen) of Houston, TX, her step-son, Mitchell Dean (Courtney) of Hazen, ND. Her nine grandchildren: Caley Ann, Mariah Paige, Christen Brooke, Colton Keith, Kade Michael, Camryn Faith, Avery Elizabeth, Bryce Evan, and Travis Blake. Grandma Robin was also a “Grandma” to all of her grandchildren's’ friends. She always provided an open door with comfy beds and yummy food. She gave them words of encouragement in their activities and inspired them to grow in their faith. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Westview Community Church, 615 Gillespie Dr., Manhattan, KS at 3:30 PM; Friday, July 19th, 2019. Services will be conducted by Pastor Ed Rotz, District Superintendent of Kansas Wesleyan Church and Pastor Brian Smith, lead pastor of Westview Community Church. Music will be provided by Lance Stafford, Cloverton, Lenay Marteney, Westview Worship Team and soloist, Jack Lousch. To celebrate Robin’s passions in life, there will be a “Tailgate” gathering immediately following the service at the church.
