Roger Andrew Closson, 71, of Manhattan, KS passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020. Roger was born in Independence, MO on October 22, 1948, to Harriet Ione (Allen) and Wayne Closson. He served in the U.S. Navy as an Aircraft Mechanic. Roger received a Masters of Science in Public Health from the University of Missouri. He was the Executive Director at many retirement and nursing communities. He loved restoring antique cars and trucks. He also enjoyed camping, and RV'ing as well as hunting. He was a member of; Kiwanis, Rotary Club, and the American College of Health Care Administrators, Roger is survived by his wife Judith, two daughters, Emily Martin, of San Antonio, TX; Rebekah(Brian)Schuh, of Riley, KS; son, James(Marie)Eklund, of Manhattan, KS; a sister, Patricia Cammarata, and six grandchildren Braxton, Brogan, Dylan, Asher, Blaine, and Bladen. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Allen Closson, A Celebration of Life at First Church-The Nazarene in Manhattan, KS will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to American Cancer Society 1315 SW Arrowhead Road; #2 Topeka, KS 66601. Arrangements have been entrusted to Carlson's Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home and Cremation.
