Rose Bissey, age 86, of Manhattan, died February 5, 2019, at Meadowlark Hills Sloan House. She was born November 8, 1932, in Seneca Missouri to Arthur and Ann Gallemore. Rose attended Joplin Junior College and Wichita State University, graduating with a degree in music education. On June 27, 1958, she married Charles R. Bissey in Wichita, KS. He preceded her in death on November 18, 2006. Rose taught elementary music in Green, KS, and was a secretary at Kansas State University, the American Institute of Baking, and Schwab-Eaton PA. She is survived by two children, Jeff Bissey of Longwood, Florida; Pamela Lowdon and her husband Kelly of Lakewood, CO; four grandchildren, Brett Bissey, Leah Bissey, Erin Lowdon, Kimberly Lowdon; and a sister, Gladys Dutton of Joplin, MO. As per Rose’s wishes, there will not be a memorial service. Her children suggest donations be made to the Meadowlark Hills Good Samaritan Fund, with deepest thanks for the care Rose received while a resident.
