Sandra Snoke

November 9, 1945 — January 6, 2012

Sandra Snoke, 66, of Manhattan, passed away at 9:30am, Friday, January 6th, 2012 at the Via Christi Village in Manhattan. Sandra Peters was born in Omaha, Nebraska on November 9, 1945, a daughter of the late Mary Helen (Holmquist) and Robert Louis Peters. She was a graduate of Oakland High School, Oakland, Nebraska in 1964 and received a bachelors degree in education from Kearney State College, Kearney, Nebraska. Sandra lived in Humboldt, Nebraska for 15 years before moving to Kansas. Sandra was a member of the PEO, First Christian Church in Manhattan and a former member of the Nebraska Educational Assoc. She taught in Nebraska during the 1970's and later in Manhattan, where she worked for the Manhattan school district with the after school programs at the Amanda Arnold Grade School. . Sandra is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Drake, and husband Damon, of Emporia; a son, Stephen Snoke, of Lincoln, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Shannon R. and William J. Schadel and Samuel R. Drake, all of Emporia, and 1 step great granddaughter, Madison Drake of Eureka. Also is a sister Suzanne McMahon and husband Bill of Omaha; two brothers, Robert Peters and wife Barbara of Des Moines, Iowa, Patrick Peters and wife Kristie of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and several neices and nephews. At the family's request there will be no visitation as cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be at 10:00am on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the First Christian Christian Church, 115 Courthouse Plaza, Manhattan. Family request donations to the donor's choice.
