Sandra Lee (Sandy) Cunningham, 78, of Manhattan, KS, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 23rd, at Ascension Via Christi Health Hospital in Manhattan. Sandy was born in Roanoke, Virginia on September 2, 1943, the daughter of the late Hazel (Rigby) and Arthur Douglas Jackson. She was united in marriage to Jack Reid Cunningham III on June 1, 1963, in Roanoke. She attended and graduated from the William Flemming, High School in Roanoke, and also attended Virginia Western Community College. For a few years after their marriage, she worked as a secretary for a psychiatrist's office. After the birth of her son, she became a homemaker until she died. Sandy is survived by her husband, Jack Cunningham III, of the home; a son, Jack (Jay) Reid & Karen Cunningham, IV, of Manhattan; two sisters, Barbara Carroll, of Raleigh, North Carolina; Brenda Campbell, of Roanoke, Virginia. a brother, Arthur Douglas (Doug) & Karen Jackson, Jr, of Atlanta, Georgia; her grandchildren: Sierra Noble, Jack R. Cunningham V, and Matthew (Matt) S. Cunningham. Sandy is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Cristina Dawn Cunningham "A Celebration of Life" will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 30th at Carlson's Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home & Cremation in Manhattan, with Jonathan Hupp- Pastor of the Bluemont Church, officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, Virginia. Memorial donations are directed to Donors Choice.
