Sherilyn Louise Schwartz, 76, of Manhattan, passed away Wednesday, December 12th, at her home. Sherilyn was born in Manhattan, Kansas on December 4, 1942, the daughter of the late Almetta Prestwood and George Stutzman. She attended and graduated from Manhattan High School and Lehman College, Bronx, New York. On June 1, 1962, in New York, she married Robert Schwartz whom she met in the US Army. She worked as a librarian and soccer coach in New York, and with the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association secretary. She was very proud of being the 1st coach of the girl's soccer team the Orange Town Girls Soccer Club known as the "Muggers". She also served in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) during the Korean War. In1990 she moved to Israel and worked as a librarian for 10 years. Survivors include a son, Michael Schwartz, of Manhattan; her daughter, Shirley Gabbi, of Netanya, Isreal; a brother, George Stutzman, of Wamego; and 5 grandchildren. Sherilyn is preceded in death by her parents, son Jonathan Schwartz; and her brothers & sisters. A graveside service, with military honors by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 17th, at the Sunset Cemetery in Manhattan by her mother, Almetta
