Stella Cailteux

January 30, 1925 — May 13, 2013

Stella Marie Cailteux, 88, of Manhattan, KS, passed away Monday, May 13th, at Via Christi Village. Stella was born in Washington, Kansas on January 30, 1925, a daughter of the late Louisa Meryle (Munk) and Richard Daniel Martin. On July 10, 1946 she married Max Cailteux, who passed away in 1951. They had two children, Cletus Cailteux and Patricia Weishaar. She worked as a Seed Analyst at State Of Kansas Agriculture Seed Laboratory. She was a member of the St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Manhattan, a 50 year member of Daughters of Isabella, an American Legion member (Auxillary) and was an avid Bridge player. Stella is survived by a son, Cletus Cailteux and wife Cheryl, of Auburn, Kansas; a daughter, Patricia and husband Don Weishaar, of St. Marys, Kansas; she is also survived by her Grandson, Matthew Weishaar and Great Granddaughter Hailey Jo Weishaar of Independence, Missouri. Brothers; Bernard Martin and wife Margret of Topeka, Kansas, and Gilbert Martin of St. George, Kansas. Sisters; Dorothy Bonham and husband Delmar of Salina, Kansas, and Joyce Murrell of Manhattan, Kansas, and many nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be led by Deacon Larry Erpelding, Monday, May 20, 6:30pm at Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home. Memorial service is will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 21 at 9:30am with Father Don Zimmerman, with an inurnment following at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Manhattan, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or The American Legion Post 421 (Topeka), and may be left in the care of the funeral home.
