Thomas "Tom" Henry Dekat

Thomas Henry Dekat, 88, of Saint George, passed away Friday, July 11th, at the Wamego Health Center. Thomas Henry Dekat was born on February 2, 1926, in Flush, to the late Laura Mary (Winter) and Clemens Henry Dekat. He graduated from Flush High School in 1944, was a lifetime farmer and carpenter retiring in 2003. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Flush, and was the sexton for many years of the St. Thomas Catholic Church Cemetery, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Senior Center in Flush, and their representative to the Pottawatomie County Senior Centers. Tom is survived by his three sisters, Sister Merita Dekat, of Encino, California; Rose Ann Dutton and husband Leonard of Glendale, Arizona; Doretha Suther and husband Jerry of Panora, Iowa; brothers Joseph Dekat and his wife Dorothy of Irving, Texas; Father Earl Dekat, of Flush; sister-in-law, Linda Dekat of Parkersburg, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. Tom was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother, Larry Dekat and sister Eileen Boatwright. A prayer service will be held at 7:00pm on Fri., July 18, 2014 at Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00am on Sat., July 19, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Flush, with the burial following in the church cemetery.
