Lyda Virginia Harrison Virginia Harrison, 96, of Manhattan, formerly of Clarksville, AR, passed away Monday, June 29th, peacefully, at her residence. Lydia was a retired mathematics teacher and enjoyed computers and traveling. Lyda Virginia Claybrook was born in Jackson, TN on June 5,1919, the daughter of the late Rev. Lyn and Sarah Ann (Skinner) Claybrook. She attended and graduated from Bradford High school, Bradford, TN in 1936 and from the Union University in Jackson, TN in 1940 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics and was also a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She attended First United Methodist Church & First Baptist Church both in Manhattan and many others as she was a 'Preacher's daughter and wife', being married to Daniel Harrison on Oct. 23, 1942 in Dresden, TN, he preceded her in death on Mar. 31, 1998. Virginia is survived by two daughters, Sarah H.Goodman and husband David Goodman, MD, of Ranchos de Taos, NM; Nora Ransom and husband Michel Ransom, PhD, of Manhattan; two sisters, Martha (Robert) Tidwell, of Pigeon Ford, TN; MaryAnne (Sam) Haigis, of Howe, TX., a brother, Lyn (Dot) Claybrook Sister-in-law: Kathleen Claybrook of Little Rock, grandchildren: Jessica Weed (Ken) of Spokane, WA, Brian Ransom of Gainesville GA; 3 great grandchildren: Annalyse, Avery & Areighly Weed of Spokane, WA. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Rev. P.E. Claybrook and a sister-in-law, Alwayne Claybrook. Visitation will be held at the Hardwicke Funeral Home in Clarksville, AR from 9:00am to 10:00am with a graveside service being held at the Oakland Memorial Cemetery at 10:00am on Friday, July 3rd, with Rev. Gerry Claybrook officiating.
